About the lifting of the Graduate School of Science’s Administrative Office lockdown.

From October 14 (Wednesday), the administrative office of Kobe University’s Graduate School of Science was temporarily locked down in response to an outbreak of novel coronavirus amongst the office’s staff. The administrative office has been reopened on October 21 (Wednesday).

On October 15 (Thursday), PCR test results revealed that three members of staff from the Graduate School of Science’s administrative office were positive for novel coronavirus. Afterwards the staff members sitting near those who tested positive also received PCR tests, which proved negative. No new positive cases have been detected.

In addition local Health Centers have determined that there are no high-risk contact persons, however other staff and faculty will continue to monitor their health and take precautions against the spread of infection.

Kobe University aims to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus infection and has established the Novel Coronavirus Response Office to handle this. We will continue to strive to prevent infection.
