On August 1, Wojciech MACYK, the designated vice president for research at the Jagiellonian University in Poland, visited Executive Vice President TAMAKI Hisashi (the director of the Institute for Promoting International Partnerships).
The meeting was attended by MIZUHATA Minoru (professor at the Graduate School of Engineering and the executive director of the Europe and Africa Division at the Institute for Promoting International Partnerships), KOIKE Atsushi (the dean of the Graduate School of Engineering) and MINAMI Hideto (professor at the Graduate School of Engineering).

During the discussion, Mizuhata introduced the past research exchange with the Jagiellonian University, and Macyk mentioned that although the current exchange between the two universities is mainly in the field of social sciences, they would like to actively promote exchange in the natural sciences in the future, too. In addition, opinions were exchanged on the possibility of future exchanges between the two universities, with Tamaki expressing his hope that workshops and projects between researchers would be the starting point for student exchanges in the sciences.

Through this visit, it is hoped that cooperation between the two universities will become even more active.
