On October 2, President EWE Hong Tat of Tunku Abdul Rahman University called on President FUJISAWA Masato of Kobe University.

The following people attended the meeting: LAI Soon Onn, the director of the Office of International Affairs from Tunku Abdul Rahman University, Gary TANG, the president of the Japan Graduates Association of Malaysia (JAGAM), and NAKAZAWA Minato, the director of the Asia & Oceania Division, as well as HANADA Eva, associate professor at the Institute for Promoting International Partnerships, from Kobe University.

Fujisawa first welcomed the visitors and gave them an overview of Kobe University. Ewe then gave an overview of Tunku Abdul Rahman University. Noting that many students at the university study Japanese, he expressed his desire to promote student exchange programs in Japan. Tang introduced JAGAM’s activities in organizing Japanese cultural events in Malaysia and in supporting students who wish to study in Japan. In response to this, Fujisawa expressed his intention to actively welcome more international students from ASEAN countries.

It is hoped that this visit will promote student exchange relations between the two countries.
