Nanophotonics is a rapidly growing research field that enables light to be completely controlled using structures far smaller than the wavelength of light. Resonant confinement of light fields into a subwavelength scale region, it is possible to implement novel optical devices with functions that cannot be achieved with diffractive optics. The project aims to develop new optical devices using perfectly spherical crystalline silicon nanoparticles. The results of this project are expected not only to advance basic research, but also to develop applications in the fields of optoelectronics, photochemistry, biochemistry, and biomedicine, as well as in the colored materials industry.
